Sweet & Spicy Tempeh with Crack Broccoli

I served mine with rice but noodles work too!

2/3 block Tempeh, sliced into about 6 pieces

1 bag Frozen Broccoli

1/4 Onion, sliced

For Sauce:

1/2 TBSP Garlic powder (or 2 cloves)

2 TBSP Honey

5 TBSP Soy sauce

2 TBSP Sriracha (add an extra tbsp if you really like spice!)

1/4 cup Brown sugar

1 cup Water

4 TBSP Cornstarch

For broccoli:

1 TBSP Olive oil

1/2 tsp Garlic powder

1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes

Salt and pepper to taste

Step 1: Mix sauce ingredients except cornstarch together. Marinate tempeh for an hour at least.

Step 2: Mix together ingredients for broccoli. Preheat oven to 475°F.

Step 3: Steam broccoli until warm (about 5-8 minutes). Toss in seasoning with onion. Put in oven for 10-12 minutes.

Step 4: Remove tempeh from marinade. Heat olive oil in pan over medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes then flip and cook for another 5 minutes.

Step 5: Meanwhile, take about 1/2 cup of marinade and mix well with cornstarch. Heat the rest of the marinade in a pot oven medium heat. Once it bubbles, add cornstarch mixture and stir well until it thickens. Reduce heat to low. This will happen quickly.

Step 6: Carefully remove broccoli and onions from the oven and serve with tempeh. Drizzle sauce over whatever all you want!
